IS JESUS CHRIST YOUR
SAVIOR AND LORD?

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9 NIV).

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen (2Peter 3:18 NIV).

Jesus said “If you love Me, you will obey what I command.” (John 14:15 NIV)

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth (1John 1:6 NLT).

So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it (James 1:21-25 NLT).

We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands. The man who says, "I know Him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him (1John 2:3-5 NIV).

If you say you are saved, yet, you have a style of life that contradicts God’s ways. You are living a lie and you are not saved.

All Christians want Jesus to be the Savior of their lives, but few have made Him Lord of their lives. You believe IN Jesus, but you don’t BELIEVE JESUS! James 2:18-19 (NIV) says But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. You trust Him for what He has done for you, but you don’t trust Him for what He tells you to do. You believe He exists and He died on the cross and rose again. You believe He is risen and He lives. BUT, you don’t love, believe, and trust Him enough to follow His commands; to do what He says; to follow HIM!!!

Romans 10:10 (NLT) says For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. God wants your heart first and foremost. If He doesn’t have your heart, you are not made right with Him (you are not justified). Your beliefs have changed. Your words have changed. But, your heart remains the same. Isaiah 29:13 (NLT) says And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote. You believe in Him, but He doesn’t have your heart. If you don’t believe Him with all your heart, your confession means nothing.

A Lord is defined as a man who has considerable power, authority, or influence over others. Does Jesus have CONSIDERABLE authority and influence in your daily life? Here are some questions to consider:

• When you have a problem, do you pray about it and give it to God, or do you worry and stress about it?

• When it comes to your daily behavior and how you conduct yourself, do you consider God’s Word and do what it says or do you do things according to how you feel?

• When it comes to making a decision do you pray, read the Bible, and seek God’s will or do you just do what you desire and what you think is best?

• Do you express opinions based on your own thoughts and understanding or are your opinions based on the Bible?

In Revelation 3:15-20 (NIV), Jesus warns you and then welcomes you, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”

If Jesus is the Lord of your life:

• You have a new relationship with His Word—OBEDIENCE!

• You have a new relationship with your sin—YOU HATE IT!

• You have a new relationship with Him—YOU KNOW HIM AND LOVE HIM!

• You are a new creation—YOU WANT TO BE LIKE HIM!

• You have a new way of living—YOU HAVE GIVEN YOUR LIFE TO HIM!

In Matthew 7:21-27 (NLT) Jesus says “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

Is the Lamb not worthy of the obedience and small sacrifices He asks of you?!?! Obedience is not something you do only when it's convenient. Your obedience is not based on your circumstances, how you feel, what you think, or what other people say. As a follower of Christ you should display UNCONDITIONAL OBEDIENCE! Jesus loves you. He died for you. He saved you. He has a wonderful plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” Jesus only wants the best for you. He is more worthy than anyone or anything in your life to have your loyalty and to be your priority. Make sure your life is built on solid rock! Surrender your life to Him and start living for Him today!

We close with John 8:12 (NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

With Jesus, there is no gray area. You are either in the light or in the dark. You are either hot or cold. Matthew 12:30 (NIV) says, "He who is not with Me is against me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters. When you live God’s way you are Living for Truth, Living for Christ, Living for God’s Glory, and LIVING IN VICTORY!
